What Is A Security Program? - People, Process, Policies

Implementing a security program is not a one-time ordeal. It involves many layers and happens over time. Watch this video as Michael explains why it’s not a one-and-done installation process, and why it’s important to consider your people, process, and policies.

As mentioned, you will never install or implement one security program on your system and be complete. It does not happen overnight and it comes with many steps to ensure your information is secure. Technology changes and advances daily. You want your security measures to do the same. Basically, you want your security program to grow as technology grows.

At Secentric, we are more than committed to helping you understand all it takes not only to get started but to make sure you have what you need to protect yourself. Don’t wait to get started, and remember, it’s not about how much money you can throw at your security system, but what security implementations you throw into the mix! Contact us today.

What do we mean when we say when we use the phrase ‘a security program’?

Security is not a point in time state. It’s an ongoing set of activities, right? So when you bring together people, process, and technology for the purpose of achieving certain security outcomes, that’s what we mean when we say a security program.

0:26 The Security Program Facets

It’s an ongoing active set of actions. It involves people, it involves process, it involves, you know, policies, it involves tools and technologies. But the important thing is that this is a, you know, in many ways, a living thing, right?

It’s not an end state, and so the difference between say, a security policy or a security document or a security control might be that these are finite or, you know, more static whereas a security program is the entire body of your documents, your policies, your standards, your implementations, your ongoing touch points, and that’s what we mean when we describe a security program.
