From a pragmatic perspective, it’s important to understand that there are more and less expensive ways to implement security measures, especially when we’re talking about the organizations that CMMC level one is going to apply to.

Especially when we’re talking about small or very small businesses, right, you know, five people, 10 people, 20 people. Security programs don’t need to be expensive for these types of organizations.
Yes absolutely, if we’re talking about CMMC level 3 handling, you know, the most sensitive DoD information, that security program is going to be expensive. But for handling FCI, it can be very manageable, relatively low cost making use of a combination of, you know, tools that you’re probably already investing in.
Some manual efforts, some documentation efforts, and you know, maybe even some open source technologies. It doesn’t need to be a, you know, break-the-bank unachievable proposition to implement CMMC level one in small businesses.
